Books for Boots, launched in June of 2007, is a non-profit program whose mission is to help hospitalized veterans. We help in two ways: Books and cash. Authors donate their royalties, or part of their income from sale of their books. Publishers donate books.
A good book can help relieve the boredom of a veteran confined for a long stay in hospital.
Cash is always needed at the hospital for emergency personal needs of the veterans needs that come up unexpectedly - sometimes involving travel or accommodations for families when making a bedside visit.
My name is Rick Gelinas, and as the founder of Books for Boots I encourage you to support the authors and publishers who contribute to this program. The best way to do that is to buy the books shown on this website.
